BDO Network Bank (BDONB), the community bank of BDO Unibank continue to students in remote areas under the “Brigada Eskwela” program.
Recently, BDONB employee-volunteers themselves traveled four hours from Koronadal to visit Sitio Kule Elementary School in Bgy. Salacafe, T’boli, South Cotabato and give the books and food packs to the students.
“Seeing the children’s genuine happiness made us realize what we did is something special. We really lost our tiredness,” said BDONB officer Milott B. Requillo.
He added, “Because of the location of Sitio Kule, it is rarely bad for outreach programs. When I found out that the students of this school were the chosen beneficiaries, I immediately signed up for this program.”
The distribution of school books is a big help for the students of Sitio Kule Elementary School because they are back to school this new school year.
“Thank you BDO Network Bank and BDO Foundation. We are very grateful that your outreach program included our school. This is a great help to our students.” said Marian Rose Sindingan, a teacher at Sitio Kule Elementary School.
“Brigada Eskwela,” is a program of the Department of Education where volunteers from the private sector help prepare public schools at the beginning of each school year.
“BDONB is very much committed in supporting Brigada Eskwela because education should be available for all. It is the right of every child to learn and be guided properly towards a better future,” Requillo explained
